6 months

My little guy is 6 months! I can't believe it! He's half way to a year!
He's doing so well and getting so big!

And look at these big, beautiful, blue eyes!
He's very active and interactive! Very aware, observant, and taking it all in.
He loves to play and is such a social bug!
He has the cutest, sweetest, deepest laugh!
He is sitting up on his own now.
He is more confident being on hands and knees, but still not crawling.

He is eating homemade pureed foods. As long as the vegetables are mixed with pears or apples, he'll eat it! He's a good little eater.
He is finally starting to sleep better. Most of the time, he'll fall asleep on his own (without me rocking him or anything), and is starting to nap better. He is still up 2-3 times a night, but hopefully longer stretches will be coming soon. (this mama could use a good night sleep!)
He was not a big fan of the snow when we had our "winter storm", but we did get some good pictures with him outside.
He got to go to school for the first time a couple of weeks ago! He did well, and Hudson had fun with his brother at school with him.
He is babbling more, and starting to mimic sounds.
He can hold his own rough housing with Hudson, and really enjoys the times they play together.

This little guy is amazing, full of life, and such a sweet baby!

We love you Foster Scott!!

5 Months

So Foster turned months on the 27th. With the holidays at the same time, I'm just now getting around to posting this. My apologies.

This is little fellow is doing amazingly! I can't believe how much he is growing!

-he is still rolling over on to his back non-stop, but doesn't roll back onto his back very much
-he is balancing on his hands and knees, and is starting to rock back and forth (aka, getting ready to crawl!!)
-he loves "standing" in his exersaucer, and being up right
-he is starting to sit up by himself for a few seconds
-he is really reaching for things when they are put in front of him (which can be good or bad depending on what Hudson puts in front of him)
-he puts everything in his mouth! (but no signs of teeth yet)
-he still doesn't like to sleep - he's the king of cat-naps, but we are working on him falling asleep by himself (I don't know if this is harder for him or me), and I think he's finally getting it, so hopefully longer naps and longer stretches at night will be in our near future!
-he LOVES to laugh and has the sweetest smile and laugh
-he still loves playing with Hudson and since he's getting bigger, he's more able to actually interact with him

Brothers

There are many reasons I love being a mom. I love the hugs. I love the laughter. I love the play time. I love the sweet snuggles. I love the learning, creating, and exploring.
But I think, one of the things I love most, is watching these two boys grow in their relationship as brothers. From the very beginning, Hudson embraced Foster, literally and figuratively. And now, Foster is really embracing Hudson. I can't describe the look of excitement on his face when he sees Hudson after naps, or a school day. They are going to be thick as thieves some day, and I can't wait to watch it all!

These two boys make my heart happier than I could have ever imagined. I am truly blessed to be their mama.

4 months

Time keeps flying by, and little bit is already 4 months old!

He's growing so well, and is such a happy baby!

-he weighed in at 15lbs, 9 oz (which is the 50%), and is 27in long (98%!!). so he's basically, long and lean! which I already knew because he no longer fits into 3 month old clothes! he's in either 6 month or 3-6.
-he started rolling over! he can roll from his back to his belly, which is technically harder to do than rolling from belly to back. At first this was exciting! But now, he isn't content to just lie on his back. He will roll over to his belly as quickly as he can.
-he actually sleeps primarily on his belly, which scared me at first, but doctors say that once they can roll over, you don't have to worry about them sleeping on their belly.
-he is very social and doesn't want to miss a thing.
-he is very active! always moving, kicking, following Hudson
-he loves to play, sing, and dance - like I said, he isn't content to just be laying down
-he enjoys being in the exersaucer, and pulling himself up on his feet

-he was the cutest little cow for Halloween!
-he enjoys baths. but again, he won't sit still long enough to really enjoy them - he just wants to roll over in his little tub

-he went on his first long road trip! we visited my grandparents in Atlanta (his great grandmother who's grandfather he was named after), and then on to Nashville to visit my sisters. he did very well!
-he likes facing forward in my wrap carrier when we go on walks
-he loves being outside!
-he is a very happy, easy baby, full of life and personality

We love you Foster Scott!

3 Months

Foster was 3 months on October 27! He is growing and changing every day, and it's so much fun being him!

-he can fully support his head
-he loves sitting up and being able to look around - he doesn't want to miss a thing
-and of course his favorite thing to watch is his big brother! He loves watching Hudson and I think gets bored with me on the days Hudson goes to school!
-he is starting to roll to his side. We practice rolling over from back to belly, and belly to back, and I don't think it will be long before he can roll on his own
-he will push up on his legs like he wants to stand and walk when we hold him up - he's quite a strong little fellow!
-he has the sweetest smile and laugh and he loves to laugh
-he is starting to "talk", and will have little conversations with us
-he loves his Daddy, and his face lights up every night when Paul comes home
-he isn't the best sleeper - but we're working on it. most days he takes a bunch of short naps, every once in a while, he'll take a good, long, nap; but I'm trying to start "sleep training" and getting him to fall asleep in his own (i.e. without Mommy rocking to him sleep every time). I have a feeling it's going to take a while, he likes being rocked. And at night he's still up at least twice; recently, it's been more like three times. fortunately, he usually goes right back to sleep, so Mommy can too; sometimes I have to coax him back to sleep!
-he's a good eater, and we're finally stretching out to about 2.5 hours between feedings! Hopefully we can get to every three hours by Christmas (that's my goal!)

2 Months!

Foster was 2 months old on September 27!
Our baby boy is getting so big and these two months have gone by so quickly! I can't believe it's already October! (and I'll be 31 in three days myself!!)

Foster is such a sweet baby!

-he is making really good eye contact, and can track us when we move around
-he has the sweetest smile and will even laugh a little
-he still likes being held the best, but he is more willing to lay on his play mat, Boppy pillow, or in his bouncy seat
-he still hates being swaddled, so I'm slowly transitioning him out of it. He naps with one arm out, but sleeps at night with both arms in. Today, I actually tried both arms out for a nap, and so far, he's doing ok!
-he sleeps in his crib the majority of the time, which is amazing - I think Hudson was in the swing all the time till he was like 3 months!
-he's only up twice a night, usually around 1:30/2:00 and then 4:30/5:00, which is good because then I get some decent sleep as well!
-he enjoys baths now!
-he loves watching Hudson and will "find" him (aka - follow his voice) when he's playing near by
-he has started "talking" and it's adorable
-he likes being outside and it seems to calm him when he's upset
-he likes tummy time! I'll prop him up on the Boppy pillow and he can hold his head and shoulders up for a good while!

Happy Belated 2 months!

God Bless
